Its a good 600 -1000 dollars depending where you go, I live in calgary and had a day-home and was charging depending on the situation because i wasn't in it for the money. you may be able to find a private day home that can make it easier on you, or try to get a subsidy. When i was going to go back to work, ( my son was 1 1/2 ) most places i looked at were about 850 because its harder to watch a child that age ( i think they are crazy but that's what everyone told me) try putting an ad on Kijiji, you might be able to find someone. I know its hard. good luck!

My son is 6 months old my sister comes to my house to watch him, we pay 600 a month for her, and thats a relative. I could not imagine an actual day care.

Day car runs about $600 a month, anywhere from $30-$40 a day. I have looked onto a few in the area for when I go back to work when my son turns 1, the most expencive was $40 per day (800 per month)To pay a relative that amount is very generous !!

where i live, which is an itty-bitty rural town, my daughter goes to the Ontario Early Years Centre to the tune of about $35 a day.in toronto, a major metropolis, money flies out your butt to pay for day care - the cheapest i could get was $800/mo and i still had to supply *everything* (diapers, bottles, food, clothing, toys, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, towel, etc).btw: it's all fine and dandy that your bf will pay the mortgage but is your name on the mortgage to? if not, he's not doing you any favours and he should still pay half the day care costs.

For a 1 year old you will probably pay around $200 per week. Look into subsidy to help pay for daycare, if your income is really low they might pay for it all.
