How attractive your are to banks in Canada will depend a great deal would probably depend on where you had your agriculture banking experience and what scale of agriculture you worked with. While Canada has a wider range of farm sizes than the USA their farms are still very large by the rest of the worlds standards and the profit margins are razor thin for the farmer so a different mind set is needed on everyone in the processes than in most of the world. The farms on the High Plains of the Central part of the country are big by any standards. They largely sell on the world export market. Vancouver, Montreal and other large cites have more smaller farms aimed toward selling to local markets and have better margins and are smaller in size.I expect the mortgage business there is better than USA as Canada Loony is at an historically very strong rate compared to the US Dollar and that is always good for Canadian business of all kinds as the USA is their biggest customer for all their goods outside of Canada its self. But banks world round are having a very hard time finding people that they are willing to risk renting money too. Canada's proximity to the USA doesn't help that as we have another round of underwater home loans coming up soon that have to be dealt with.If things haven't changed getting into Canada is very easy for citizens of the former British Commonwealth. It is not very hard for others either. It helps a great deal if you have enough money to support yourself or have a job waiting for you in Canada. It would be best if it was a job that is hard to fill with Canadian's. On your correspondence I would stress international banking experience with the county your from an include and other skills or education that make you unique. The link below is a Google search sorted by most recent first for:"immigrating to canada" "how to"It should help understand the mechanics of the process.Good luckGC
