Well you will probably have to go west to Colorado..Arapaho Basin rocks..it is west of Denver and the snow comes early......and, if the snows come early, then Jaye Peak and Sunday River are super...and while I doubt they will have snow that early, Lake Placid....Whiteface Mountain at Wilmington NY is the best in the East...3260 vertical and it is valley skiing and so beautiful...a little further north and a cultural change is Mt Tremblant north of Montreal..a mini Whistler in the east..a European style village at the bottom of the hill and a fabulous stone chalet at the top...but like I said, in November you are going to have to go to the Rockies and west of Denver about 100 miles over the Eisenhower Pass is Brekenridge, Keystone, Copper, Arapaho Basin and Copper plus Winter Park just outside of Denver ..and one more pass over you have Vail...one thing nice about the Loveland area is you can park your car and get a free bus everywhere and the skis go on back and you can buy multi hill passes...I hope this helps but one more thing...A-Basin is fabulous..you start skiing at the 12,000 foot level and have a 2200 vertical...you are skiing the rock face and while there are marked runs most is one wide open bowl that you traverse across and drop off wherever you want..and it is habitated by real people..get there early and you can lay out the barbecue..thats at least how it used to be and best of all you don't have to mortgage the house for a ticket and a beer...wish your son all the best and I hope you have an amazing time...
