I will give you the benefit or my wisdom (or stupidity, depending on which way the market is going). Here are my holdings as of today:AAPL - AppleADP - ADP Corp, they process payroll for companies, great dividend and good companyBIDU- Baidu, the Chinese Google. Anyone who has some cash laying around should buy this stock.BMO - Bank of Montreal, a solid financial without all the issues the US banks have. Nice dividend.BP - I'm betting it will soon pay a dividend and return to its previous levels.CAVM - this is a semiconductor company, but heavy in broadband and wirelessCLGX - this is hard to explain in a short space, they provide information related to mortgagesFCX - Freeport McMoran, copper and gold mining, a commodities play.GIS - General Mills, great dividend.GLD - Gold ETFHNZ - HJ Heinz, another consumer goods with great dividend.JNJ - Johnson and Johnson, healthcare play with great dividend.MO - Altria, fantastic dividend stock.MSFT - MicrosoftPEP - Pepsi, good dividendPFE - Pfizer, good dividendSIRI - Sirius XM, a speculative play, I'm sorry I bought itUUP - This is a US Dollar ETF. Can the dollar get much lower? I don't think so, at least I hope not.WFIFF - Waterfurnace, a long term speculative play.So you see a lot of dividend paying blue chip stocks. I think the market is range-bound and thus I think making 3% or 4% dividends is important to get a decent return.
