Forget it. No credit, no mortgage. Get one credit card. Use it cautiously each month, pay bill in full when it arrives and you know have a credit score

Would you loan 100,000+ to someone that doesn't have any credit history or hasn't even demonstrated their ability to pay their debts?I would assume the government assisted mortgage in Canada would be for a minimal amount, you would probably still have to go through a bank in order to get a loan. There are people out there that have never had a credit card and were able to get a loan to purchase a house. Those people will usually have to put a significant amount down on the house AND would probably get a terrible interest rate.

the answer to the overall question "Is it possible to get a mortgage without credit?" - Yes. It's difficult but possible. In your situation the answer is most likely no. Unless you have 40% to put down, have a history of timely rent, cell phone, and utility bills- then you won't have any luck without credit.Canada could be different, but I'd imagine even they would require several yrs of continuous employment before they would consider lending to you. Get a credit card, pay it off every month.
